OCIT interfaces are the basis of an open system architecture


They focus on standardized connections between distributed central and distributed components, such as subsystems, tools and field devices. With the use of Internet technology, they enable the construction of traffic management systems and system-wide networks, which include field devices and control panels.

The OCIT definitions specify system architecture, rules, OCIT protocols, functions, and transfer protocols.

So far, the following interface areas have been defined in the overall traffic control system:


OCIT Outstations
are standardized interfaces between headquarters and field devices.


(OCIT Center to Center) are standardized interfaces between central components and systems.


OCIT-O Profile
profiles are specifications for transmission technology.


is an electrical interface between the traffic signal controller and LED signaling modules in 40 V technology.


is the interface for the Roadside Unit (RSU).
