who we are

ODG - The OCIT Developer Group

With the aim of standardizing interfaces for traffic engineering systems, the signal construction companies Dambach Werke GmbH, Siemens AG, Signalbau Huber AG, STOYE GmbH and Stührenberg GmbH founded the joint venture ODG (OCIT Developer Group) in 1999. The designation of the interfaces is: OCIT (Open Communication Interface for Road Traffic Control Systems / Open Interfaces for Traffic Engineering). The following signal construction companies are represented in the ODG:

AVT STOYE GmbH (formerly STOYE GmbH and AVT GmbH),
Siemens AG,
Stührenberg GmbH,
Swarco Traffic Systems GmbH (formerly Signalbau Huber AG and Dambach Werke GmbH)

Verkehrs-Systeme AG is involved in the standardization of central interfaces (OCIT-C) as a partner of the ODG

Standardization

Harmonization in the traffic

In order to harmonize the national interests of standardisation and to take influence at the European (if necessary international) standardisation, the OCTS Harmonization Committee (Open Communication Standards for Traffic Systems) was established. This committee assures the requirements and technical security of the OCIT interfaces. Initial members are:

BASt (Federal Highway Research Institute)

OCA (Open Traffic Systems City Association eV) - elaborates requirements of urban operators

ODG & Partner (OCIT Developer Group and Partners) - the consortium of signal construction companies and their partners for the development of OCIT specifications

The trade mark OCIT®

Open Communication Interface
for Road Traffic Control Systems

OCIT (Open Communication Interface for Road Traffic Control Systems) is a registered trademark (OCIT®) of the ODG. Owners of rights of use at OCIT interfaces may use the trade mark OCIT in product names. Details are regulated in the user agreements.

All manufacturers that have rights of use of OCIT interfaces can use the indication „OCIT integrated“. This means that one or several OCIT interfaces are integrated. It is not a quality seal and no statement about the range of the implementation.
